The American Legion Auxiliary believes that educating our youth about the basic ideals and principals will help ensure the survival of our republic.
Participants who successfully complete the American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State program in its entirety and finish in good standing will be eligible to apply for the following scholarship opportunities:
10 scholarships available at $1,500 each
The University of Central Missouri Girls State Scholarship has been developed to recognize outstanding leadership as demonstrated by those students who successfully complete the 2015 session of Missouri Girls State. The scholarship award value for the 2016-17 academic year is $1500, to be divided evenly between the 2016 Fall and 2017 Spring semesters. To apply, students are encouraged to complete and submit the application at www.ucmo.edu/sfs/scholarships by April 1, 2016.

1 at $1000 and 5 at $500
All MGS participants who are descendants of a veteran who served at least 90 days on active duty are eligible to apply for the $1000 Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship. Missouri Girls State participants who are current members of or a descendant of a member of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion and are unmarried, under the age of 21, and a resident of Missouri are eligible to apply for a $500 Joseph J. Missouri Girls State participants who have been admitted to Cottey College by February 1 as full-time incoming freshmen are eligible. Students must provide documentation of participation in Missouri Girls State to the Enrollment Management Office when applying for admission. This $1,000 scholarship will be divided evenly between the fall and spring semesters. These awards are stackable with other Cottey scholarships and are renewable annually with a cumulative 3.0 GPA. $650 per semester
Missouri Girls State high school seniors, graduating from an accredited Missouri High school, who rank in the top 15% of their class or score at least 25 on their ACT qualify for this award. The scholarship is renewable for three consecutive semesters, if the student enrolls in and successfully completes a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Scholarships will be applied to tuition, fees and books.
The initial scholarship award must be used within one year of testing date or graduation. A+ students are now eligible for this scholarship. Recipient must also sign and return acceptance forms and high school transcripts must be on file to confirm eligibility of scholarship before it will be applied. Unlimited $5,000 Scholarship, plus an additional $2,400 Work and Learn Award
Renewable each year for a total of $29,600 ($20,000 scholarship and $9,600 Work and Learn Award), provided the student establishes and remains in good academic status (2.0 or above) and good social standing. An application is required along with a resume or essay outlining the student's involvement with Girls State. 10 at $800 each - Renewable
High School graduates, who are Missouri Boys or Girls State Citizens and score 26 or above composite score on the ACT Placement Test may receive the MSSU Boys/Girls State Scholarship valued at $800 per year. It is renewable up to 8 semesters if the student completes at least 24 credit hours for the Fall and Spring semesters combined with a 3.0 Overall/Cumulative GPA at the end of each Spring semester. Students must be enrolled full-time and use this scholarship within one year after graduation. The MSSU Boys/Girls State Scholarship will apply towards direct institutional costs only and will not be refundable to the student. This scholarship can be stacked with Presidential, Excellence, A+ Leadership, and Foundation Scholarships up to direct institutional costs.
5 at $1,000 each
Missouri State University will offer up to 5 awards of $1,000 each year to entering freshmen who participated in Girls State. To be chosen for this competitive award, students must have both a solid academic record and a strong record of leadership. This award is non-renewable. It can be combined with other Missouri State awards and scholarships with the exception of the Presidential, University, Governors, and Multicultural Leadership scholarships. Students must apply for admission, submit the General and Departmental Scholarship Application, and provide verification of Girls State attendance to the Office of Student Financial Aid by March 1 of their senior year. One student who participated in Missouri Girls State is eligible to receive a $500 scholarship. Admitted Missouri S&T students, use your username and password from Joe's to login and apply on-line at scholarships.mst.edu by February 1 of the student's senior year in high school. Financial need will be taken into consideration in selecting the recipient. The recipient for this scholarship will be informed in writing by April 15. Annual Room and Board: $8,400
Girls State participants will receive annual Room and Board at Missouri Valley College. Requirements include admission to Missouri Valley College and proof of participation in Girls State. All Institutional scholarships are not "stack-able". The one scholarship that gives one the most benefit will be awarded.

Scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen who have attended Missouri Girls State and selection will be based on academic merit. Applicants must apply for admission to NCMC and complete a Scholarship Application. Scholarship recipients will receive notification by May 15th.

Scholarships will be awarded to incoming first time freshmen who are enrolled full-time and meet Rockhurst admission requirements. These scholarships are renewable. Submit a letter of interest and verification of attendance at Missouri Girls State. Missouri Girls State participants who rank in the top 30% of their graduating class will be eligible for this award. This is a renewable award as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained and you are a full-time student. Southeast provides an unlimited number of Residence Life Leadership awards to full-time incoming freshmen with at least a 3.0 GPA and 18 ACT (900 SAT) that were Missouri Girls State participants. It can be combined with the Presidents's or University academic scholarships, but cannot be combined with the Governor's or Regents' academic scholarships. Application deadline is Dec. 1. Please complete and submit the Residence Life Leadership Award application. Stephens College is a private women's college located in Columbia, Missouri. Stephens offers Merit Scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 that are renewable annually. All Missouri Girls State participants accepted to Stephens with at least a 3.0 GPA, and an ACT score of 20 or above qualify, with the amount being determined by the strength of the recipient's overall academic and leadership credentials. Accepted applicants who participated in Missouri Girls State are eligible to be considered on a competitive basis for a limited number of $1,000 Girls State Scholarships. The awards are renewable according to the scholarship renewal requirements provided at the time the offer is extended to the student. Five participants of Missouri Girls State who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential are eligible for this non-renewable award. Complete the Scholarship application for entering freshmen by December 1 of the year prior to your attendance by following the directions found here: financialaid.missouri.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/mu-scholarship-application/index.php. Within the application you will see questions specific to your participation in Girls State and any positions you've held. Renewable scholarships are available to Missouri Girls State participants who have a minimum 3.0 GPA, rank in the top 33% of their graduating class and have a high ACT score. Verification of participation in the Girls State Program is required.

As an excellent representative of leadership and character, which is required of all Westminster scholarship recipients; students who have participated in the Missouri Girls State Program meet this component of eligibility for scholarship consideration. Leadership Award: 1 or 2 available at $2000 (residential student) or $1000 (commuter student). Applicants MUST have served as the Governor of Girls State.
Participant Award: 5 at $1000 (residential student) or $500 (commuter student). Applicants MUST have served as a participant of Girls State.
Both awards require a minimum ACT score of 23 or SAT of 1050 (critical reading + math). These awards are available on a first come first serve basis to first-year freshmen and are not renewable. These awards are stackable with other William Woods Scholarships and documentation of participation must be submitted.
