Farewell to 2021 ALA MGS Delegates

Words can't describe the ripples of emotions felt yesterday. I like many others, I'm sad that this week full of much excitement has come to an end. Even though the 2021 MGS session has ended, that doesn't mean that the impact we can have with the knowledge we have acquired has to end also. We can use these new skills to bring awareness to issues that continue to disunite our world. We were able to work together as a unified group of strong-willed women, notwithstanding the city or county we came from, to create these memorable experiences that will forever be with us.

Saturday at our last assembly, I wouldn't be wrong to think that everyone stood up when the roles we played, or the positions we ran for, or were elected to were called. We can't fail to recognize ourselves and our achievements because we deserve it no matter how small you think of your contribution. There were times we doubted ourselves, shed a few tears, and shared much laughter. These moments in life were all parts of the puzzle that made the 2021 session of ALA Missouri Girls States what it is. Thank you all once again, and I hope you can carry what you have learned in the program to make your mark. Your courage, ambition, and selflessness to serve your communities and those around you will never go unnoticed. Never forget, "There is no state, like Girls State!"
