It’s campaign time! When it gets to this point in the week, campaigning is a huge part of running for a county or state office. Girls, girls, and more girls are running and it’s hard to keep up with them all! Here are some ways that you can try to stand out with your campaign for state office!
The first way that a lot of people are using is social media. We all know that this is a huge part of our generation. This is the way we reach out to people! You can get your platform set on social media. People figure out who you are, what you’re about, and how you are going to be the change at MGS!
The next way to campaign is sidewalk chalk. Delegates walk on these sidewalks every day! If they look down at their feet and see a cool slogan or your name and what you are running for written in big letters, that will be something they remember! A lot of girls around MGS are already making up slogans and putting themselves out there with this method.
Another way is poster boards! Poster boards are a HUGE way to campaign. Girls State is now allowing you to wear campaign materials! There have been a lot of “cereal box” type posters that girls have been wearing around the campus. This means that they have a poster on the front side and the back side of their body. This way everywhere you go, people can see you campaigning! You can also hang up posters in your dorms! This is a way to get your name out, not only to your city, but to your county! You want your people on your side!
Now these are only just a few ways to campaign here at MGS. If you want to get your name out there so you can win an office, start campaigning! Make sure the entire assembly knows your name. If you can make a difference in that office position, campaign so you can be voted in! Happy campaigning everyone!
